Core Values

Had the opportunity to enjoy an inspiring meeting of educators focused on the Core Values:

PURPOSE, PASSION, INTEGRITY, and GRIT!

Many  of us have witnessed individuals that have squandered exceptional potential, their lives amounting to much less than would be desired. While the underdog with a myriad of obstacles, succeeds over and over again. What is the difference? I believe it is a PURPOSE, not just any purpose, but one that is bigger than oneself. A goal that drives far beyond, fame, fortune or status. Once a meaningful purpose is found true change begins, first on an individual level, then on to one's immediate sphere, and then finally the world at large.

Passion is necessary, as the fire that burns in the heart, long after the enthusiasm of the initial decision to do something great wears off. This PASSION empowers the holder with limitless energy, enthusiasm and drive. Without passion the trials of life will choke the dream and kill progress.

The trait of integrity is highly sought after and is truly hard to find. When used as a nautical term literally means, "can the vessel hold water or is it sea worthy." Are you the type of person that does the right thing when no one is looking, more importantly, even to the detriment of oneself? The person of integrity does not cut corners, lower the standard, or embellish the results. She is willing to tell the truth when it hurts, because she knows sure progress must be based on a strong foundation to flourish.

Grit is what calls many to sacrifice their very lives, livelihood and families for a cause. Understanding that if it were not for their tenacity and unwavering commitment to the purpose, that there would not be a future. Knowing that even though there are obstacles in the way, their battle torn bodies and wills, crushed under the weight of responsibility, they know if they don't quit, success is just a matter of time.
